Fighting The Flesh is about the body’s response. A journey through the eerie beauty within. Stuck with the friction of what has happened. Being confined by the body, fighting the self. It is about the surface and associations without guidance on how to convey meaning or reveal what is hidden underneath. Leaving behind a physical impression in the space. Manipulating and melting images as a way of using the hands to reclaim the narrative. It is an experiential confrontation of what has been endured. Exploring what was lost and who or what has been left behind. The work asks questions.
